Last week, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new SR 520 Pedestrian Bridge. Scott and Susann from our Seattle office braved the rainy weather to attend the event, celebrating alongside project partners and the community.
This state-of-the-art pedestrian bridge is a key feature of the ongoing SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program, a significant project enhancing multimodal connectivity and safety in the region. The new pedestrian bridge improves access across SR 520, connects neighborhoods, and provides a safe, scenic route for walkers and cyclists alike.
A Project with a Legacy
The SR 520 program has been a long-term, large-scale effort aiming to improve traffic flow, safety, and transportation infrastructure across the Lake Washington corridor. WSDOT’s dedication to creating safer and more connected communities is evident in every aspect of this project. Learn more about the history and scope of the SR 520 project on WSDOT’s website.
