Studio Cascade joins SCJ Alliance family

On July 1, we welcomed Studio Cascade to the SCJ family. Located in Spokane, Wash., this award-winning team of planners and designers are big-picture thinkers and visionaries.

More High-Quality Services

“Studio Cascade is highly regarded for their comprehensive plans, subarea plans, and master plans,” says SCJ Alliance co-founder Jean Carr. “They add depth to our Planning Group and are particularly known for their public participation and engagement strategies.”

SCJ Planning Manager Dan Penrose echoed that sentiment. “I have known Studio Cascade founder Bill Grimes for more than 20 years and have long been impressed with his approach to planning, community engagement, and urban design,” Dan said. “I’m thrilled we can come together in a way that strengthens both companies and enhances what we can offer clients.”

Some of Studio Cascade’s high-visibility projects include the Bainbridge Island Waterfront Park and City Dock Master Plan, San Juan County vision assessment, award-winning Port Angeles Waterfront Transportation Improvement Project, Fayetteville Downtown Plan in North Carolina, and the Council Bluffs Arts and Culture District Plan in Iowa.

Same Client-Centered Focus

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our firms, our clients, and our employees,” continues Jean. “We both share a commitment to client relationships and quality work, treasure our employees, and value collaboration across disciplines.”

Bill adds, “We have great alignment on culture and approach to projects, with client relationships of paramount importance to both of us. Combining our firms provides an opportunity to grow and achieve more together than we could alone.”

Greater Accessibility

SCJ now has offices across the state. In addition to Spokane, SCJ has teams in Lacey, Seattle, Ballard, Centralia, Vancouver, and Wenatchee, as well as Boulder, Colorado. Wherever they’re located, SCJ professionals work together virtually, creating dynamic teams that seamlessly collaborate with one another.
