In 1995, Brad Shea graduated from Saint Martin’s, and for the past two decades has made a name for himself as one of the top roundabout engineers in the country. Today, he’s back in Lacey with 16 other Saints alumni at SCJ Alliance.

“Brad’s breadth of experience and depth of knowledge about roundabouts is second to none,” said SCJ Principal Amy Head. “He’s led projects across the country, into Canada and in our own backyard.”

Locally, Brad’s roundabout experience includes the Marvin Road Corridor, Olympia Gateway Corridor, City of Lacey’s 45th Avenue/College Street intersection and Olympia’s Boulevard Road improvements.

“I’ve learned a lot, with great projects in great places,” Brad said. “Now, I’m most excited to focus on my community, where my clients and my team are my friends.”

As SCJ’s Traffic Engineering Lead, Brad’s focus is on the safe and efficient movement of people and goods in a way that meets clients’ needs and budget. A great deal of that work is around intersections and alternatives analysis, comparing queue lengths, wait times, safety, costs, capacity and community priorities frequently revealed through stakeholder engagement.
