Our SCJ family tree grows once more as we welcome Jeff Glander and his team to SCJ Alliance effective May 1.

Jeff is the owner of a 28-year-old, Olympia-based landscape design and architecture firm, Jeffrey B. Glander & Associates. He and SCJ team members have been working collaboratively together on projects since 1992.

“We’re delighted to have Jeff and his talented team join our crew,” said SCJ President Perry Shea. “It’s a tremendous opportunity for both firms. We have a great working relationship and shared values… including being client centered, treasuring our employees, providing exceptional service, and taking pride in quality work.”

Jeff agrees, “This is the right move for many reasons, including benefits our clients will see, as well as opportunities for my firm’s employees.”

Incorporating a landscape design component at an earlier stage in a project is a huge benefit to clients.

“It advances creative solutions at the beginning of a project through all phases of planning, engineering and implementation,” Perry said. “A process we’ve already seen work well with our landscape architecture teams in Seattle and Wenatchee.”

Jeff and his team of three other landscape architects, Trent Grantham, Angie Vos and Jill McFarland, will be located in SCJ’s Lacey office. Their client types span education, commercial, institutional, healthcare, recreational and residential.

Jeff sees the union benefitting his clients, his employees and his own work.

He said, “We’ve been enjoying a robust workload and this move will further expand services for JGA’s existing clients, including in-house planning, civil and traffic engineering. It also creates more growth opportunity for my employees, both in leadership roles and project variety.”

He said he also looks forward to having more time to be engaged with clients and letting SCJ corporate staff handle the administrative items of running a company. “It’s a win-win,” he said.

SCJ and Glander have had great success working together already. As separate firms, we’ve joined forces on projects throughout Thurston County, including the Saint Martin’s University Courtyard, the Garfield Elementary School expansion and elements of Briggs Village.

Additionally, Glander team members are providing design and architecture services for a number of new WinCo Foods stores across the western United States, for which SCJ is responsible for site development services.

With such strong roots already underfoot, we look forward to flourishing as we grow together!
