Lahaina Banyan Tree (Lahaina, Maui) – Planted in 1873 as a 8’ tall sapling, this “Ficus benghalensis” is now the largest tree in Hawaii with the largest canopy coverage of any tree in the US. It currently covers 2/3 of an acre, has 16 major trunks, and a circumference of ¼ mile.
