Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores

This Love’s Travel Stop is located on 12.4 acres in Ritzville, Wash. The project includes auto and diesel fueling, a Country Store, a drive-through fast food restaurant, and a tire care facility. Water and sewer were extended to the site via two 36-inch casings bored under Interstate 90. Traffic capacity in the project’s vicinity was improved by widening WSDOT State Route 261.

When SCJ began working on the project, the project site was located in Adam’s County, Wash. SCJ was able to work with the city and the county to successfully annex approximately 60 acres of land, including the Love’s parcel, into the city of Ritzville.

A condition of the annexation was the ability to provide water and sewer services to the newly annexed property. This required extending a 12-inch sewer main and 20-inch water main approximately 1,800 linear feet to and through the new project site, including two 400-foot bores underneath I-90. SCJ worked closely with the city, the county, and WSDOT to obtain the permits for all of the necessary improvements.
