The Tierra Learning Center is a unique composition, offering recreation, arts, sustainable forestry, organic farming, early childhood education, and facilities for adults with developmental disabilities. It has a goal of growing as a sustainable, multi-faceted destination resort.

SCJ assisted them in working to make this vision a reality. We prepared the initial Master Planned Resort Overlay District (MPR) application materials and represented Tierra in discussions with Chelan County through the application process.

The initial phase of the project required a large intake of information in order to formulate a compelling narrative. SCJ staff was able to work through the technical challenges of the proposal while staying true to the organization’s foundational mission and vision.

Obtaining the County’s approval for a MPR resulted in a zoning overlay that established a pathway for growth, while providing the assurances the Tierra Learning Center needed to confidently invest in its future.
