Over the last 20 years, the City of Bonney Lake has experienced significant residential growth in the incorporated city limits and surrounding unincorporated areas of Pierce County, as well as rapid commercial development along the SR 410 corridor.

SCJ was called upon to assist the City in updating the Mobility Element of their Comprehensive Plan to create a future vision and framework in addressing current and future traffic conditions. The work included refinements to the travel demand traffic model of the City’s transportation network, updating the transportation project list of the City’s Transportation Plan and Capital Facilities Plan (CFP), and assisting the City with adoption of the Mobility Element Update. We also developed a unique “Neighborhood Nodes” strategy, where localized commercial/community services hubs are connected through trails or enhanced street sections to encourage non-motorized travel off the SR 410 corridor.
