We are dedicated to making the places we live better. Whether that is by developing plans for walkable communities with parks and open space integrated in the neighborhood plan, or through open space and recreation plans that serve the entire community. Planting design is a true art, it is dynamic from season to season and year to year. We consider the four seasons when selecting plant material and specify plant material based on what it will look like ten minutes, and ten years, after planting.
A garden is a unique reflection of the owner. Our landscape architects are driven to provide site design and landscape solutions that reflect the character of a client and their home. We find no greater satisfaction than successfully integrating a client’s vision and needs into a well-thought-out plan that is site sensitive, allows for outdoor living, provides four season appeal and increases the property value while meeting the client’s budget expectations.
The team at SCJ Studio Landscape Architecture, located in Seattle, are masters in residential landscape design. Some of their projects are highlighted on this site, but for a complete portfolio of their work visit SCJstuidioLA.com.
Our design team members consider more than just code requirements when developing a planting plan for a commercial project. The experience of a customer or visitor to a commercial facility is formed the minute they enter a site, and we strive to provide a high level of “curb appeal.” Commercial landscapes are often driven by strict budgets and the code requirements of a given zoning district. We develop creative and unique landscape plans that meet budget and code requirements while enhancing a user’s sense of enjoyment and experience while visiting a retail or office setting.
We are “parks people” at SCJ Alliance. Parks provide an escape from day-to-day activities for children and adults alike. Our landscape architects work closely with our clients to develop parks and natural recreation opportunities that are responsive to the users, site sensitive and budget responsive.
We put ourselves in the students’ shoes when designing for schools, and we aim to create spaces where they feel not only welcome, but inspired. Our designs incorporate pockets of explorable landscape areas, allowing students to engage in outdoor classroom activities and interact with the landscape. Landscape architecture services for schools and universities include everything from irrigation design to playgrounds and ball fields. We strive to encourage students’ appreciation, enjoyment and care for the natural world around them.
Over the last century our urban world has focused more and more on the automobile and efficient use of public spaces. This focus in many places has resulted in plazas, urban parks and corridors that don’t feel safe or inviting to the pedestrian or individual user. Placing people at the center of our focus on urban design projects is critical in developing vibrant public spaces that are inviting to users. Without people, cities and urban centers lack a spirit and vitality that are critical to creating a much-loved urban space.
