Downtown Revitalization Plan
SCJ conducted a planning process involving extensive public outreach to create a plan for the revitalization of Downtown Quincy. This process included working closely with downtown businesses, nearby residents, and local interest groups to ensure the proposed recommendations benefited as many groups as possible. The final plan recommendations for downtown included traffic calming efforts to ensure a safe pedestrian environment, working with private property owners to develop flexible spaces for public gatherings and street fairs, and streetscape beautification to improve the overall appearance of downtown. Recommendations were prioritized, and specific actions were provided to assist the City with implementing the plan.
On-Call
SCJ serves as the contract planner for the City of Quincy. This includes general planning assistance, such as fielding questions from the public, developers, and staff regarding codes, zoning, and general permitting. Our team provides development review, including but not limited to pre-application meetings, minor and major subdivisions, staff reports and hearings, comprehensive plan amendments, and municipal code updates as needed. The on-call contract provided Architectural and Engineering contract services for successful RCO funding programs to complete the PROS Plan update, Aquatic Center and Lauzier Park design services, and B Street improvements.
