The Park Street improvement project in the City of Ruston supported the City’s growth by connecting residents and visitors to key amenities, including businesses, parks, schools, and transportation hubs such as the Vashon Ferry. SCJ designed significant safety and accessibility upgrades, including widened sidewalks, intersection bulb-outs, and on-street parking. Additional improvements included pavement repairs, upgraded ADA ramps and drainage structures, new curbs and gutters, enhanced street lighting, site furnishings, and updated pavement markings to meet town standards. Funded by a Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant, the project transformed Park Street into a one-way thoroughfare to the north and east, meeting the needs of Ruston’s growing population and economy.
