CLIENT(S)
Lacey Fire District #3 (sub to Rice Fergus Miller, Inc.)

INVOLVEMENT
April 2018 - October 2020

SCJ provided civil engineering and landscape architecture design services for Station #34, located next to the Regional Athletic Center (RAC) in Lacey.

SCJ initially assisted the Lacey Fire District #34 with a feasibility analysis in support of securing bond funding. This included oversight of several studies and a determination of potential mitigation requirements related to the Asarco arsenic plume.

The district secured bond funding for a new, approximately 11,625-square-foot fire station, with 37 new parking spaces and a 2,430-square-foot addition to an existing vehicle repair facility.

Engineering design support — including grading, drainage, and utility design — came next. SCJ also provided landscape and irrigation design.

STAFF STORY

“I was most excited about the development of relationships with both RFM and Lacey Fire District while managing a project that was in such close proximity to the office. This project has since afforded SCJ and myself additional opportunities to work directly with Lacey Fire through their on-call as well as with RFM on other projects with Lacey Fire and other fire districts in the region.”
