SCJ prepared the Rural Town Center Corridor Plan for SR 165 through the heart of Wilkeson. The trail extension project was the largest element of six key projects identified in the plan. After completing the corridor plan,
SCJ supported the town in applying for multiple grants and secured nearly $900,000 in funding. SCJ led the design of the trail improvements, which constructed 1,000 feet of mixed-use trail and sidewalk along the west side
of SR 165. A historic railroad trestle over Wilkeson Creek was incorporated into the mixed-use trail. Other elements include street lighting and planter strips. Design services had plans, specifications, estimates, NEPA/SEPA
documentation, Section 106 report, and right of way acquisitions.
