As a subconsultant to Parametrix, SCJ provided a range of land use, best practice analysis, agency coordination, and urban design services. SRTC – the region’s metropolitan planning organization – hired our team to prepare a locally preferred BRT alignment alternative and a detailed analysis of the corridor’s existing context and development potential. Working closely with SRTC, WSDOT, the City of Spokane, Spokane County, and the Spokane Transit Authority, the project explored development opportunities near potential station sites. It provided the City and County with a solid technical and economic basis to advance station area and neighborhood plans. Key SCJ elements included intensive station area assessments and a “sourcebook” to aid in visualizing development potential resulting from BRT service.
