SCJ designed the landscape and irrigation for a new indoor out/door pickleball facility with a restaurant. Activity spaces include group seating areas with fire pits, synthetic turf areas for outdoor family games such as cornhole, and bandstand areas for music and concerts. SCJ provided landscape architectural design for the 23 kitchen sites and the overall site development, including landscape and irrigation for the entry roads, buffers, adjacent apartment complexes, parking lots, and other multi-use buildings. The name “23 Kitchens” was derived from the fact that there are 11 pickleball courts (each with 2 “kitchens”) and one restaurant (also with a kitchen!). The facility has proven extremely popular and is part of a larger 18-acre mixed-use development known as Hogum Bay Town Center in Lacey, WA.
