San Francisco, CA

Kendall/Heaton Associates, Inc.

The San Francisco skyline is changing. An 1,100-foot-tall office building and adjacent multimodal Salesforce Transit Center are nearing completion in downtown.

A 5-acre city park rests atop the transit center, and a gondola will connect the plaza of the Salesforce Tower to the roof-top park. The 20-passenger glass cabin will carry passengers from the new Mission Square to the much-needed additional green space and alert others that the park is open and accessible to everyone.

SCJ’s engineers were responsible for the planning, feasibility, preliminary engineering, and procurement of the park-plaza gondola.

The team also provided support through design review, construction, and commissioning, as well as was responsible for coordinating with state and local authorities to achieve system licensure and operation.
