San Francisco, CA

Kendall/Heaton Associates, Inc.

The San Francisco skyline is changing. An 1100-foot-tall office building and adjacent multimodal Salesforce Transit Center are nearly completion in downtown.

A 5-acre city park will rest atop the Transit Center, and a gondola will connect the plaza of the Salesforce Tower to the roof-top park. The 20-passenger glass cabin will carry passengers from the new Mission Square to the much-needed additional green space and alert others that the park is open and accessible to everyone.

SCJ’s Engineering Specialties Group participated in the planning, feasibility, preliminary engineering and procurement of the park-plaza gondola.

The team  also provided support through design review, construction and commissioning, as well as playing a key role in interfacing with state and local authorities to achieve system licensure and operation.
