SCJ staff worked with North Central All-Hazards Region as their owner’s engineer throughout their VHF system upgrade project.

Specific services included inspection, survey, and analysis of existing towers to be utilized on the project to determine if they could carry the anticipated loads from the build-out; preliminary site design and specification documents for the new construction or upgrade of eight tower sites; contractor design submittal review; construction observation and special inspections; and preparation and delivery of final closeout documents.

This was a unique project given the adverse terrain on most of the sites. Many of the sites were difficult to access in the summer and some were unreachable in the winter. All of the struggles were worth it however when we were able to look at the views from the tops of the newly constructed towers!
